VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

The Conservancy owes a huge debt of gratitude to its amazing supporters, all of whom are volunteers.  Thanks to their ongoing efforts, in 2016 and 2017, we were able to reach three of our highest goals, including two resounding wins at the California Coastal Commission against the massive development project proposed for Banning Ranch.  In September 2016, the Commission voted 9-1 to deny the Project, and on February 9, 2017, the Commission voted to approve the legal findings from the September hearing, confirming that less than 20 acres of the 401-acre site could be developed.  This year, on March 31, the California Supreme Court announced its decision in favor of the Conservancy on our case against the City of Newport Beach’s EIR and its approval of the project.

Thank you, Banning Ranch volunteers!!!  Look at all the good you’ve done!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

The BRC is 100% volunteers and 100% of every donation of your time or dollars goes to the cause of saving Banning Ranch.  We need help with virtually everything, including our website, QuickBooks, community outreach, volunteer coordination, media outreach, fundraising and habitat restoration programs when we can arrange them, so you will have no trouble finding ways to help.  Take a look at our list of volunteer opportunities in our signup form and if there’s anything we missed that you’d like to do, please let us know.  We’ve left room for you to write in your particular interest(s), if not included.

Thank you for considering the Conservancy for your volunteer efforts.  Your time and energy are precious and we appreciate every minute you share with us!

If you’re not yet involved, but interested in helping to save Banning Ranch, the last large coastal open space in all of Orange County, and you like having a direct impact on the outcome of your efforts, you’ve come to the right place—and we need you!  Please use this page to explore our opportunities.  We would love you to join us!
